Enforcement of Child Maintenance via Spanish Court and EU Regulation 655/2014

Принудительное взыскание алиментов через испанский суд

Situation

The mother of two minor children held a Spanish court order for child maintenance, but the ex-husband (non-resident) had systematically failed to pay for over 14 months. Total arrears exceeded €16,800.

Solution

Our lawyers initiated enforcement proceedings, secured the freezing of the debtor’s foreign bank accounts using EU Regulation 655/2014 (European Account Preservation Order), and requested wage garnishment at the debtor’s workplace.

Result

The full debt was recovered within 5 months. Maintenance is now paid regularly. A preventive freeze on the debtor’s account ensures future payments.
