Situation
The Ukrainian national married to a Spanish citizen came to us 1.5 years after the wedding. First self-managed attempt refused: insufficient cohabitation proof, CCSE form errors, empadronamiento inconsistencies. The notary refused to certify the package.
Solution
Our lawyers prepared the full dossier per Circular 6/2014 DGRN: notarised translations, apostilled marriage certificate, updated empadronamiento, apostilled criminal records from both countries, cohabitation evidence (bills, rental contract, photos). CCSE and DELE A2 preparation organised. Legal brief under Art. 22.2.d) CC. Dual nationality preserved under the Spain–Ukraine bilateral treaty.
Result
Citizenship granted by the Civil Registry 19 months after submission. Spanish passport issued. Client is now an EU citizen with freedom of movement across all 27 EU member states.
