The client’s family owned real estate and a business in Barcelona, plus a holding structure in Andorra. No document spelled out how these assets should pass to the children on the owner’s death — creating a risk of conflict between Spain’s forced-heirship rules (legítima) and Andorran law.
We built a single succession plan coordinated across both jurisdictions: a Spanish will that respects the heirs’ statutory share, and separate Andorran-structure documents, synchronized with it.
Result: the family walked away with one coherent estate plan, protected against surprises in either jurisdiction.
The takeaway: wealth split between Spain and Andorra needs coordinated succession planning, not separate plans per country.
