Situation
The mother of a 6-year-old received a job offer in the Netherlands and wished to relocate with her child. The father (a Spanish national) was categorically opposed and threatened a complaint for international child abduction.
Solution
Our lawyers filed an application with the Barcelona Family Court arguing the child’s best interests: better education and prospects in the Netherlands, higher maternal income, and a detailed father-contact plan. A child psychologist’s report was submitted.
Result
The court authorised the relocation. A contact plan was established: 6 weeks in summer, half of winter holidays, and video calls twice a week.
