Skip to content A student card in Spain is an official document that confirms your student status and grants access to numerous benefits.
As of May 2025, Spain introduced a new procedure for student authorization: for higher education programs, the permit is now granted for the entire duration of the studies at once, without the need for annual renewals.
University students automatically gain the right to work up to 30 hours per week. A hybrid study format is allowed, provided at least 50% of classes are in person. We support you through the entire process: from checking the program and educational center to obtaining the TIE.
The following are entitled to apply:
1. Confirmation of student status
You'll need to provide a certificate from your educational institution stating your period of study.
2. Completing the application form
The form can be obtained from the administrative office or downloaded from the university's website.
3. Paying the fee
The cost ranges from €5 to €20 depending on the institution.
4. Receiving the card
Usually issued within 7-14 business days.
